As ridiculous as the scenes may look, it was still very emotional, as we would see Song Joo’s despair on his face as he was looking for Jung Suh. It’s not even a Korean song, there are basically no words, but oh, how many times it played! All these scenes (admittedly slightly ridiculous) showing Sang Joo (Kwon Sang Woo) walking around the shopping mall with his army of employees in black suits would necessarily have Ave Maria as background. Yes, Kdramas are messing with our brains!Īnyone who watched Stairway to Heaven would remember Ave Maria. And as all Kdrama fans would know, this very efficient Kdrama trick results in associating a song with a very strong emotion, even if you don’t remember the exact scenes it played in. Actually, the OST is much shorter than many recent Kdrama OSTs, which means that we hear the same songs many times. Therefore, it’s only normal that listening to Stairway to Heaven OST would bring back these feelings. I don’t know how I would feel watching it again now, since it’s quite old, but I remember vividly the emotional roller coaster it got me through. I haven’t written about Stairway to Heaven yet, but let’s just say that it was the second Kdrama I ever watched, and probably the most intense for me.
